ERICH competitors can compete in 2000m, 500m and relay race distances across all age groups. Adaptive athletes are also included in the World Rowing Indoor Championships, with IAR (Indoor Adaptive Rowing) categories across 2000m and 500m.

No. You just race once. Your performance will be added to the ERICH, GREC and the CGEC rankings. This means you could win three medals, but they might be of different colours, or you could win just one and GREC and the CGEC medal if there are two or more non-German citizens who are faster than you.

No. You enter and pay once and race once but your performance will be added to the ERICH, GREC and the CGEC rankings.

Yes. If you are a member of a German or Central German rowing club affiliated with German Rowing, you are eligible for ranking in both the GREC and the CGEC. German citizenship is not required.

Competitors can enter as many events as they choose to. An online registration and payment must be made for each race.

Changes to your entry cannot be made directly once payment has been completed. Please contact us by competition@erichdresden2027.com if you need to make any changes to your entry, and we will be happy to assist.

Registrations submitted via the registration portal are binding, and the registration fee is non-refundable. Once a registration has been completed through the portal, the participant is considered officially registered, and the fee will not be refunded, regardless of when a cancellation occurs.

Participants unable to attend are nevertheless asked to notify us of their cancellation via competition@erichdresden2027.com as early as possible to assist us with the organization and scheduling of the competition.

To enter a relay team you must first nominate a captain. When they enter the chosen relay category they will be asked for the personal details of the additional members of the team. Only one person from the relay team needs to complete the entry.

There is no set maximum capacity, however, we reserve the right to limit the size of entry into any given event.

All competitors with a physical, visual or learning disability entering the Adaptive events must go through the appropriate process for their disability prior to entries closing. Further details are available here: worldrowing.com/technical/para-rowing/indoor-adaptive-rowing.

Rowing machines and stretch mats will be available for warm-up in one general warm up area.

Each individual may put the rowing machine on the resistance of their choice.

All race information will be sent out after entries have closed in the week leading up to the event.

Lightweight competitors will be weighed at the lightweight weigh-in not less than 1 hour and not more than 2 hours before their event. Lightweight competitors who do not make their weight will be able to race. However, their time will be listed at the bottom of the event they entered, and they will not be placed. Their time may, however, be included in the Concept2 Ranking, as a heavyweight time.

The race schedule will be confirmed a few days after entries close. Competitors will have 24 hours following close of entry to make any updates to their entry before the final draw is produced. This will be made available on the website (erichdresden2027.com).

Under World Rowing rules, a seat pad is permitted, but it must not be attached to the rowing machine, just placed on top of it.

The GREC or CGEC is committed to clean sport. All athletes, athlete support personnel and clubs are bound by, and must abide by the World Anti-Doping Agency Code. Athletes competing at GREC or CGEC may be tested at any time and by entering this competition it is deemed that consent to be tested has been given. A document sent to all competitors prior to the event, that states their name, warm-up time, weigh in time (if applicable) and race time. Please bring your race card with you for check in on the day.

If a competitor misses their race for whatever reason they will be able to race in a later race if a place is available but will not be eligible to win a medal.

All rowing machines are hooked up together so they start at the same time simultaneously.

A race starter will be positioned in front of the machines to give further instructions once you are sat on your race machine.

When on the race floor, the race starter will instruct all participants to put the erg handle down after a quick warm up.

Once the race is ready to go, participants will then be asked to pick the handle back up and keep it still.

Rowers will need to wait and listen out for "Sit Ready, Attention, Go". This will also show on your PM5 monitor in front of you. Once you see "Go", you can then start racing.

If you take a stroke before this, you will hear an alarm bell noise which will signal a false start and the race will have to be restarted.

The start sequence will be automated by the C2 Race system. Your race time starts as soon as the starting procedure begins.

No, GREC, CGEC and ERICH 2027 are in-person only events.

Like all previous ERICH, GREC and CGEC events, the indoor rowing machines will be numbered. When you receive your final entry information, this will indicate what machine you will be racing on and at what time. Competitors must ensure that they are on the correct race machine, but a team of race monitors will help if you have any questions or need help finding the machine.

During the short period before your race start time, you will have the opportunity to set the drag factor on your machine. However, please pay attention to the race monitors and the race starters to ensure you are ready to start on time.

Competitors should be at the marshalling point at the race floor entrance before their published race time. Race marshals will then gather competitors in enough time to get ready before entering the race floor. When your race is next, a few minutes before your scheduled race time, the marshal team will direct you through to the race floor.

The machines will be set up and connected to the Concept2 race system, and there will be no way to connect individual devices or phones for the race.

Your data, splits and stats will be logged during racing and can be viewed via the live race results which will be posted shortly after you race. Concept2 will also share the results and upload these to the Concept2 Logbook to help for personal results.

Participants can choose which race screen is viewed by clicking the change display.

No, there won't be an individual race floor volunteer per rowing machine. However, there will be a number of volunteers who will be around on the race floor to help if needed.

The BallsportARENA has multiple toilet facilities and showers available to all competitors.

Changing rooms are available on site for athletes. There are cloakroom facilities within the BallsportARENA. In addition, for competitors only, we will be operating a bag drop facility which can be used whilst you are competing (i.e. drop your bag before warming up and collect it after you have raced). Items are left at the competitor's own risk.
